Genealogy Workshops & Speaking Topics

Angel offers practical, story-driven workshops that help audiences preserve family history while exploring new ways to research and understand their roots.

Revisiting Family Lore with New Research Tools

Every family has stories that have been passed down for generations. Some are accurate. Some are incomplete. Some are simply misunderstood.

This workshop explores how today’s expanded digital archives and research tools can help revisit long-held family stories with fresh perspective. Participants will learn how to validate timelines, uncover new context, and better understand the people behind the stories.

The goal is not to dismiss family lore, but to deepen it and place it into clearer historical context.

Ideal for: genealogists of all levels who want to strengthen and verify their research

Creating a Family History Your Family Will Actually Want to Read

Most family history projects never get finished, or they end up as binders no one opens. This workshop helps participants turn their research into something meaningful and readable. We walk through how to choose what to include, how to organize photos and documents, and how to tell the story in a way that connects with the next generation.

Attendees will leave with a clear path to create a family history book that preserves what matters without becoming overwhelming.

Ideal for: beginners and experienced researchers who want to turn information into something lasting

Making Family History Dimensional: Bringing Your Roots to Life

Angel shares highlights from her own multigenerational heritage trips—walking cemeteries in Ohio, southern Indiana, tracing ancestors through Pennsylvania, and documenting heirlooms in her own family.

She also shares how family legacy shows up close to home. As a co-owner of Blue Jacket Dairy, Angel has named artisan cheeses after meaningful local landmarks like Hull’s Trace and Ludlow to preserve and honor the rich heritage of northwest Ohio.

These stories spark curiosity, pride, and personal connection that inspire audiences to do the same in their own communities.
